If you love Archie Comics, chances are you’ve enjoyed the art and stories of Dan Parent. An American comic book artist and writer, Dan launched his career at Archie Comics straight out of The Kubert School, quickly gaining attention with the “Love Showdown” storyline in 1994. He’s also worked on titles like Felix the Cat, Barbie, and Disney Adventures, and in 2016, teamed up with Fernando Ruiz to create the indie comic Die Kitty Die, which was funded through Kickstarter. Dan has made a major impact on the world of comics by pushing boundaries and embracing diversity. In 2010, he introduced Archie’s first openly gay character, Kevin Keller, in Veronica #202—a character who became so popular that he got his own series in 2012. Dan also drew wild crossovers like Archie vs. Sharknado and the fan-favorite Archie Meets Batman '66 series in 2018, bringing together two iconic comic worlds in a single adventure. Dan’s groundbreaking work has earned him well-deserved recognition, including the 2013 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic Book and a Harvey Award nomination for Humor in Comics. With each new project, Dan Parent continues to energize and innovate within the comic book world, captivating fans with his creativity and storytelling.
