Bob Camp

Robert Frank Camp has worn many creative hats throughout his career—animator, writer, storyboard artist, comic book illustrator, and producer. Best known as a co-founder of Spümcø and for leading The Ren & Stimpy Show, Camp helped shape one of the most influential animated series of the 1990s, earning Emmy and Annie Award nominations along the way. Before his Ren & Stimpy fame, Camp built a strong foundation working as a designer on iconic shows like ThunderCats, Silverhawks, and The Real Ghostbusters. He later joined Warner Bros. as a storyboard artist for Tiny Toon Adventures. At Spümcø, he contributed heavily to Ren & Stimpy’s early episodes—including storyboarding the fan-favorite “Stimpy’s Invention.” After moving to Games Animation, Camp became creative director and oversaw the show until its conclusion in 1995. Beyond television, Camp has illustrated comics for Marvel, including G.I. Joe, Conan the Barbarian, and Crazy Magazine. He even designed album art for hip-hop pioneers Newcleus. His later work includes storyboarding on feature films like Looney Tunes: Back in Action and Ice Age: The Meltdown, directing for Robotboy, and today, sharing his expertise as a teacher at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
